![]() ![]() Realistically that's really the only light in the restaurant as they have a very dimly lit atmosphere in their small space, which to their credit, makes use of a small space in a reclaimed dock along the Port of San Francisco. The wall of bottles is so tall, they have to use a rolling ladder you see at hardware stores just to get to the very top which gives off that high-end glitzy vibe you'd find in a chic bar in places like Las Vegas. The first thing you will notice is the huge wall of liquor bottles back-lit with only white light that stretches from the ceiling to the mid point of the wall which then meets the open kitchen area. We came on a rainy Friday night after work and we knew the place would be filled but we decided to take a chance to see if they were accepting walk-ins. I love it when restaurateurs and architects come together to create something so visually appealing that it's worth the journey just to venture inside and Hard Water is one of those places. ![]() Sexy, trendy, cool are all words that describe Hard Water along the Embarcadero in San Francisco, which is an intimate cocktail bar that specializes in whiskey drinks, with a touch of southern cooking all while looking out over the San Francisco Bay.
